The ages 1-5 are most crucial for a child’s learning and growth as 90% of the the brain development takes place in this age. Scientists have confirmed that a toddler’s brain develops over trillions neurons and synapses, which help it to adapt and learn about things. The brain also has the extraordinary power to eliminate these connections if not put to use. Sadly, majority of the existing preschools do not take advantage of this tremendous, almost inexhaustible potential for learning. Preschool is not the place to teach reading, writing and arithmetic skills as it is important to first focus on social/emotional, physical and cognitive development. Having realized the deficiencies in the current preschool culture, we at Footsteps aim to transform the way pre school education is imparted.
